Whole Chiropractic Healthcare shares a space with Whole Yoga & Pilates, a studio thatís open to the public. (Dr. Robertson is a trained yoga teacher.) You may find a class in progress during your visit. Donít worry—everyone is happy to have you here!
Why yoga and pilates?
Yoga and pilates are both great complements to chiropractic and physical therapy, as they work on alignment of the musculoskeletal system, strengthening and stretching the muscles, increasing circulation, promoting balance and cardiovascular health, and encouraging proper breathing. In addition, yoga and pilates support our nutritional philosophy—they can be great calorie-burners!
Perhaps the greatest benefit of a regular mind-body practice like yoga, however, is stress reduction. Yogis and yoginis (what youíll become when you take a yoga class!) learn to focus on the present moment, clearing the mind in a wonderfully relaxing way. Even the gentlest yoga class can help with weight loss, too, by reducing levels of cortisol, a stress hormone that causes the body to store excess fat.

Do I have to be a patient to attend classes at your studio?
You do not have to be a patient of Whole Chiropractic Healthcare to attend classes at Whole Yoga & Pilates—everyone is welcome!
Patients of Whole Chiropractic are certainly not required to attend classes, either, although many find that the strengthening and stretching they experience through yoga/pilates helps in their rehabilitation.
Can I take classes at Whole Yoga if Iím a beginner, or if I have an injury?
Usually, yes! We are committed to helping everyone enjoy the benefits of yoga, but please do let us know about any injuries or restrictions you have. All yoga poses can be modified, and our instructors are experienced with students of all levels. Laurie and Dr. Robertson would be happy to discuss their personal healing experiences with yoga, too—just ask us!
